Kindergarten Students Visit Blue Hill Memorial Hospital

Blue Hill Memorial Hospital ED Technician with Kindergarten StudentTwenty-six kindergarten students from the Blue Hill Consolidated School visited Blue Hill Memorial Hospital on June 10.  Students, teachers, and chaperones learned about the hospital’s emergency, imaging, and rehabilitation services.  This year’s tour also included a demo of the hospital’s teletrauma unit, which connects the Blue Hill emergency department with trauma specialists at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.  “It’s an important benefit of being part of the Eastern Maine Healthcare System,” explains Kim Goff, director of development.

Jodi Ambrose, grandmother of six year-old Ava Tapley, works in the environmental services department of the hospital.  “Ava’s mother, Shawna, and I both work for the hospital.  We’re so glad the kindergarten students can visit us every year.  We want them to feel comfortable in our hospital and its practices, whether they are visiting a family member or here for medical care.”
