BHMH Donors Listed in EMHS Report on Philanthropy

Healthcare Charities has released its most recent (2009) Report on Philanthropy, which profiles the state of private support for Eastern Maine Healthcare Systems affiliates, including Blue Hill Memorial Hospital.

In the period covered by this report, donors to EMHS affiliates gave more than $21,732,298 to support healthcare needs across a broad swathe of Maine.  Michael Crowley, president of Healthcare Charities, opens the report by describing, “… something very magical about the place we call home – Maine.  It is full of people who care about their neighbors, who want the best for their families and friends….”

Blue Hill Memorial Hospital’s annual fund remains at the top of the 12 affiliates listed in the report, thanks to many generous year-round and seasonal residents who appreciate the value of outstanding and personalized healthcare, close to home. “Our annual fund remains a precious source of unrestricted funds for our hospital and its practices,” says Charles J. Hatfield, II, chair of Blue Hill Memorial Hospital.  “We are tremendously grateful to our friends who step up to support both our annual fund and special needs, such as the electronic medical records project in our physician practices.  Donors make all the difference in the world. Each gift has an immediate impact on the quality of care we are able to provide to all of our patients.”

Although care has been taken to ensure the accuracy of the donor list that is published within this report, there is always the possibility of error.  If we inadvertently have omitted your name, or if information is incorrect in our listing, we apologize.  Please bring your concerns to the attention so that we may correct our records and acknowledge you properly in the future.
