David WheatonAfter an extensive search, Blue Hill Memorial Hospital has hired David Wheaton as its director of human resources. Wheaton brings more than a decade of human resources experience to Blue Hill Memorial Hospital.  He most recently managed human resources at Fairchild Semiconductor’s Western Avenue Manufacturing Facility, a 600+ person site in South Portland, Maine.  Wheaton holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of New England and has received additional specialized training in areas like quality, project management and lean management.

“The human resources field is increasingly complex, and we are fortunate to have someone with David’s experience joining us in Blue Hill,” says interim CEO, Erik Steele, DO.  “Our organization is stronger than ever, and David will play a key role in helping us to attract and retain highly qualified employees who deliver the care that our patients deserve.  We’re delighted to have him as part of our team.”

Wheaton welcomes the transition into healthcare.  “I think I have a good grasp of the challenges that the hospital faces, in areas like cost control and employee development.  I look forward to helping the hospital secure a bright future.”
