About Community Health Education
Blue Hill Memorial Hospital and its practices provide health information, instruction, and self-care learning experiences for the residents of our region. Partnerships with other organizations, such as Healthy Peninsula, help make these programs possible. Many offerings are free of charge. To the fullest extent possible, our outreach efforts reflect a community benefit strategy that is based on our most recent Community Health Needs Assessment as well as feedback from groups like our Community Advisory Council.
Information About Communicable Diseases
We distribute up-to-date information about communicable diseases in our community, including Pertussis and H1N1 outbreaks. We work with local media, schools, and other groups to help identify, prevent, and treat illness as it occurs.

Community Health Programs Beyond the Hospital
There are many organizations within our service area which are committed to advancing public health. Examples include Healthy Peninsula, Healthy Island Project, and Bucksport Bay Healthy Communities. We encourage our patients to consult the Web sites of these organizations for programs related to diet, fitness, and more.
