Types of Gifts

Many nonprofit executives and philanthropy directors would say, “cash is king.” To a certain degree, they are correct; however, there are other ways for individuals or families to contribute to the hospital’s long-term success.  A planned gift provides future cash flow for the hospital.  BHMH can create an individualized plan for anyone interested in supporting healthcare through philanthropy.  Whether you want to provide an immediate gift, establish an estate gift, organize a life income plan (thus possibly increasing your own income), or create a lasting legacy, we can help you meet your philanthropic goals.

An Immediate Gift (Annual Gift)
An immediate gift is one made today to benefit the current operating budget of the hospital. It can be made by cash, check, credit card, or stock.  A donor may wish to direct the gift to a certain area of interest, honor the memory of a loved one, or make a gift as a grateful patient to say “thank you” to a caregiver.

A Simple Estate Gift
Individuals often feel compelled to provide support, but budget constraints limit their ability to do so. A simple bequest for a set dollar amount or a percentage of your estate can make a dramatic difference for future generations.  By sharing your plans, we can ensure your wishes are always fulfilled and you can enjoy our heartfelt appreciation through our recognition programs.

A Life Income Gift
Perhaps your investments, assets, stock, and real estate are not giving you the financial peace-of-mind you desire.  We can help you explore several opportunities that will provide you with income for life, while offering significant tax savings.

A Lasting Legacy
One hundred years from now, will anyone remember your name?  With an endowment you are guaranteed that your legacy will be everlasting.  Whether you give an outright gift, an estate gift, or a life income gift, we will work with you to establish an endowment that will provide future support to the area of healthcare most important to you.
